What made you want to start this business/org?
George, the founder of Georgicaterer, faced a significant setback due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a challenging time that left him feeling as though he had lost everything – his dreams, his passion for food service, and his personal connection with customers. However, in the middle of 2022, George realized that he hadn’t lost everything. His experience, knowledge, and spirit were still intact.
This realization sparked a renewed sense of hope and faith in George. He decided that it was his time to rise again, to come back stronger, make fewer mistakes, and build his business differently. With this newfound determination, George started Georgicaterer from scratch in Brooklyn, New York. My journey is a testament to resilience, passion, and the power of hope and faith in overcoming adversity.
Why did you choose to have your business/org in Brooklyn?
George’s decision to establish Georgicaterer in Brooklyn was driven by his belief in embracing challenges and his past experiences. Brooklyn, to him, is akin to an alma mater – a place of learning and growth. It’s where he honed his skills, faced adversities, and emerged stronger. This connection to Brooklyn and the lessons he learned there fueled his desire to rebuild his business in the very place that shaped him.
