Committees

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce voluntary committees offer Members the opportunity to contribute directly to the work of the Brooklyn Chamber and to interact with fellow Chamber Members who share common interests. Committee participation is a great way for Members to network, share ideas, and further our objectives for Brooklyn businesses and the borough through its promotion, support, and advocacy initiatives.

Ambassador Committee

Brooklyn Chamber Ambassadors are a key link between the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and its members. Ambassadors work closely with the Chamber to increase membership involvement, recruitment and retention by volunteering for outreach programs and actively participating in Chamber events.

Government Affairs Committee

Our Government Affairs Committee advocates for improved economic conditions within the borough by advocating for various policies, issues, and legislation. This group also works to enhance the interaction between Brooklyn Chamber members and public officials.

Healthcare and Biotech Committee

Our Healthcare and Biotech Committee strives to promote programs and policies that improve the health and wellness of Brooklyn’s residents and workers. We advocate specifically for the Chamber’s health-related business and organizations and envision a borough where all of Brooklyn’s small businesses have access to high-quality, low cost healthcare.

M/WBE Committee

The MWBE Committee is dedicated to the development and enhancement of minority and/or women owned enterprises focusing on strengthening economic capacity, offering procurement information along with establishing working relations with private and public business sectors to foster increased revenue, procurement and economic development for a healthy MWBE community in Brooklyn and beyond.

Workforce Development Committee

The Workforce Development Committee promotes employer education and improves dialogue between resources which support diversity in the workforce, while supporting our 21st-century workforce and beyond. We support member businesses by fostering the best workplace practices that encourage talent development and a transformation of systems that impact businesses by viewing workforce needs with a business focus.

Energy Committee

The Energy Committee brings together industry professionals working in the field of energy and sustainability. This includes companies and organizations that support renewables such as offshore wind, solar, and battery storage to the utilities, clean tech companies and professionals working to meet NYC’s carbon-reduction goals. We advocate for policies that support this growing sector of the Brooklyn economy.

Real Estate and Development Committee

The Real Estate and Development Committee includes developers, property management companies, and professionals that support the real estate and development industry. The committee discusses policy issues that impact the real estate industry and opportunities for economic development.
