Who is DataVerge?
Founded in 2003, DataVerge owns and operates the only carrier-neutral interconnection facility in Brooklyn, providing the digital backbone to the greater NY region.
Located at Industry City in Sunset Park, 16 buildings across 35 acres of repurposed industrial space for creatives and innovators. DataVerge itself features a 50,000 sq. ft. data center space with a rich ecosystem of over 30 carriers and network providers and direct connection to networks providing access to all significant clouds on-ramps.
In addition to offering a wide range of scalable colocation and infrastructure solutions, our customers receive 24/7/365 on-site technical support and 99.999% uptime, backed by best-in-class security. DataVerge is SOC 1 (SSAE18 Type 2) and PCI compliant.
Its carrier-neutral position makes DataVerge the ideal ecosystem partner in Brooklyn – NYC’s most populous borough. Some notable and exciting carriers that are a part of their community include AT&T, Charter, Cogent, Crown Castle, Lightpath, Lumen, Verizon, Zayo, and Zenfi.
What made you want to start this business/org? DataVerge was founded to address a significant need in Brooklyn. As the most populated borough in New York, with a population of approximately 2.7 million, it’s no surprise that there is a growing demand for reliable and efficient interconnection facilities. Recognizing the potential of Brooklyn two decades ago in 2003, we were determined to make an impact in our community. Since then, we’ve been on an exciting journey of growth and innovation, constantly striving to provide our customers with the best possible network infrastructure. Today, we proudly operate a 50,000-square-foot facility in Industry City.
As we continue to grow and evolve, we look forward to serving the needs of Brooklyn and beyond. Why did you choose to have your business/org in Brooklyn? Why did you choose to have your business in Industry City?
The campus of Industry City was a key factor in our decision to set up shop in Brooklyn. We knew that this location would be the next technological hub, and we were right; since 2009, the number of businesses in Brooklyn has increased by 32%, and business sales have seen an increase of 48%. This growth is supported by Brooklyn’s competitive advantages, including a large, skilled, diverse labor force, an established education and research infrastructure, and a dense urban core. Whether starting a new venture or moving your business to this location, Brooklyn’s diversity, dynamism, density, and direct access to Manhattan make it an excellent choice for any industry.
