Event Held at the Grand Opening of Park Asia Restaurant in Sunset Park
Tonight, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce hosted an Asian-Pacific Heritage Month celebration at Park Asia Restaurant in Sunset Park. The event celebrated the contributions and influence of the Asian-Pacific culture on Brooklyn.
“The Asian-Pacific community in Brooklyn is a vital piece of our borough’s rich diversity,” said Chamber President Carlo A. Scissura. “Their culture and influence, stretches beyond their distinct community to touch the lives of all Brooklynites regardless of their background. It’s that diversity that gives Brooklyn the vitality and spirit it is known for.”
Park Asia was announced in December as the Chamber’s 1500th member. Owner Maggie Gu sponsored the event.
“The Grand Opening of Park Asia is a continuation in the relationship between the Asian-Pacific community and Brooklyn, representing traditional Cantonese-style food in a chic urban setting.” said Gu. “We are proud to represent the contributions of the entire community at the Chamber’s Asian-Pacific Heritage Month celebration.”
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce promotes economic development across the borough and serves as an advocate for its member businesses. Our mission is to promote a healthy and robust business environment throughout Brooklyn. The Chamber is one of New York’s largest business advocacy and economic development organizations with nearly 1,700 members.
