About OMR Boxing Club Founder: Ricardo Salazar

The principles of focus, strategy, and resilience required in the ring have defined Ricardo Salazar’s entire career. His journey from world-class athlete to master marketer and leader is a testament to a champion’s mindset, which he brings to One More Round.

Salazar’s foundation was forged in boxing discipline. Starting at 13, he rose through the amateur ranks to compete on the U.S. Team, coming close to the 1988 Olympic Games. He turned professional, debuting at Madison Square Garden, before an injury in 1993 ended his fighting days.

His deep understanding of the sport led him to work behind the scenes with legendary promoters and fighters. As a publicist for icons like Manny Pacquiao, Mike Tyson, and Evander Holyfield, Salazar gained an insider’s view of the sport’s highest levels.

This proven ability was mirrored in his parallel career in sports entertainment. At Medieval Times, he was the driving force behind transformative marketing strategies, turning a struggling location into a company leader. Later, as President/CEO of the Greater Newark Convention and Visitors Bureau, Salazar applied his strategic vision to an entire city, securing major events.

In 2014, he was inducted into the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. Today, at One More Round, all these threads converge. Ricardo Salazar is a leader who understands how to build a champion—in the ring, in business, and in life. His club is a place where authentic, world-class boxing instruction meets the strategic guidance needed to help every member unlock their potential and answer their own bell.
