Liquid Technology’s Managing Partner

Give us a brief description of Liquid Technology and what it does.
Liquid Technology is a nationwide provider of IT Asset Management Services. We specialize in performing data center clean-outs, de-installations, consolidations, and moves. Our core competencies include IT asset purchasing & brokerage, project management, compliant data destruction, chain of custody/ reverse logistics, as well as e-Stewards & R2 compliant e-waste recycling.

What made you want to start Liquid Technology?
I was at the right place at the right time. Before launching Liquid Technology, I was working for a dot com. We had other locations around the world. I was on the business side of the technology department and was in charge of ordering everything. Yet, at some point, they asked me to start downsizing everything. So I was getting rid of some of the assets, which were mostly new. Then not long into that process, probably less than a month, they said, “Hey, we’re actually going to be shutting down. Do you want to stay on and liquidate all of our assets because you’ve done a good job?” So I didn’t have anything else to do at the time. I figured that sounded interesting. I could work for myself and basically worked as a consultant liquidating this one company. I knew it was a viable business early on when I received phone calls to help people liquidate.

Why did you choose to have your business in Brooklyn??
In 2000, we opened our first office in Manhattan. In 2009, we decided to move to the Brooklyn Army Terminal because it had the perfect space for our company to grow, access to transportation, and not to mention that our office has a great skyline view overlooking the water. We started with 31,000 sq ft and have doubled our footprint to 62,000 sq ft, which allows us to accommodate even more clients and hire more staff. In the 14 years we have been here, we’ve seen how much Brooklyn has grown thanks to the help of organizations like the Brooklyn Army Terminal, the Small Business Development Center, and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. We are excited to be part of Brooklyn’s flourishing ecosystem.
